some people tell me i'm emo, i'm just not sure.

* i have black hair that covers 1 eye

* i wear heavy black eyeliner and gray eyeshadow.

* i'm a vegetarian

* i write poetry

* i wear black finger nail polish

* i think pink is evil

*i wear straight legged tight jeans

* i like emo music

* i was diagnosed with depression, anxiety and insomnia.

* i hate preps

* i'm not gothic

* i write suicide notes, and i think about suicide alot.

* i think about cutting myself.

Do you think i'm emo?

Sure you're emo. Everyone is emo at one point or another. It's part of growing up. People think they're the only ones, but they're just like everyone else. And some people, like you, express these feelings through clothing, music choice, all of that stuff.

You're just ASKING to be stereotyped. You're asking for people to come and pick you out, most likely so you can go off and complain about people calling you emo.

What does it matter if you're emo or preppy or whatever else is out there? Is it seriously going to change your life?

Go talk to your therapist, not a bunch of judgmental strangers on Yahoo. If you've been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and insomnia, you've seen a therapist, who if they let you stopped going to, must be a really crummy therapist.

And if you're talking about your mental problems, use the right terms. Generalized anxiety disorder, Major depressive disorder, Primary Insomnia. By using shortcuts you're only assisting others in stereotyping people with real issues.

Everyone covers they're eye with hair. It's the 'hip' thing. People from all stereotypes are vegetarian/vegan. Makeup is makeup, wear it as you please. Only emo people can write poetry? Pink's just a color, if it bothers you so much go gauge your rods and cones out. Again, straight legged jeans are 'hip' nowadays too. As is emo music, and apparently mental illnesses are hip too. They validate people to complain and be annoying as hell.

Someone could definately label you emo, you fit the stereotype. But if you don't think you're emo, then you're not! You're whatever you want to be, not what others think you are. I had a friend who was kinda girly punk. She said that she was goth, although I thought she clearly wasn't. She just didn't fit the label. (although labels are for cans. are you a can? lol) But if that's what she thought she was, I wasn't going to tell her otherwise. As for me, I had preps asking if I was goth! I had a geek tell me I was a prep! Does that make ANY sense to you? If people ask, I tell them I'm unique. I'm a little bit of every "label", and I'm all just me.

So be what you want to be. (and don't think about suicide, you're important to people and they won't want you gone)

Well I'm sorry to say....but yes you would be counted Emo. I just wanted to say all about that Cutting,and suicide notes. Yea you are most likely to young to be thinking about that. Your life can not possibly be that bad to think about suicide and cutting and if it is then you should consider a counselor or a therapist, or at least a good friend or a family member who can help you.

I think it's a stupid label, but the depression diagnostic and the thoughts about suicide would definitely get you labelled emo.

First of all, "EMO" is just a lable. Second of all; wearing black, "EMO" music, and hating pink are just charastics. "Emo" is just being really emotional, its how u feel.
