Why do people say that mixed girls look better than "regular" girls?

I'am an African-American (black) girl. I have a milk chocolate like skin tone. I have long hair (down my back) that is really straight and dark gray eyes (NOT CONTACTS). When I go places, people look at me and I see them whispering or some will even stop and tell me I am pretty. Some people (even distant family or new friends) will say "You're so pretty, what are you mixed with?" or "Is that your real hair?" WTF!!! My mom (eyes and hair) and dad (hair and skin tone) share some of my same traits and are black too (I know from what I have been told). Some traits in my family have been known to skip generations (sister has dimples and really curly hair) Not all black, mixed, white, asian people are ugly!!! Why do people stereotype and assume? I find that unfair to ALL races who have to go through situations like mine. :(

Personally, race doesn't matter to me. Black, white, mixed, asian, hispanic, anything else... Skin color has nothing to do with beauty.

You describe long hair, light eyes, etc. These are so called "white traits" as you know. I have natural wavy/curly red hair and I've had nitwits pester me since I was a kid, asking annoying questions about whether the color and texture is real or not. My mom was a red head, too, and I remember people walking right up to her and asking her where she got such a natural looking wig. Multicultural stupidity and bad manners, if you ask me.

your beautiful the way you are. i am light skinned and black, and used to have long hair, now its curly and growing out, and people think i'm cute for a girl with an afro, or cute because i'm light skinned. it used to be good hair, all that garbage. pretty because i'm light, then i got zits and blotches then wasn't so pretty, etc. who cares? brush it off. you are beautiful because you are you. not because of what you look like on the outside. stereotypes are apart of our society. which is twisted, and needs to change. people look on the exterior to define the interior. that is usually never the case. love you first. you are beautiful no matter what anyone says, you know looks will fade, but your inner will shine on. so you have long hair and light eyes, those are what are appealing to people because of the advertisements on the television/magazines. but people don't question, just follow and blend, and what you look like is being promoted on the mainstream. real people with physical flaws, and mental flaws are rarely seen on the tv. most don't search for the real beauty, and we all have beauty in and out. not just on the outside, but within too.
