Can anyone identify my cat's breed?

She has long fur with very thin hairs, with large areas of white, gray and peach colors.

She's very quiet and if she does make a sound, it's usually squeaking.

She likes to dash all over the apartment with no apparent reason.

Unless you have a pedigree in your hands from the breeder, your cat is a Mutt... Nothing wrong with that...

She is what we at the shelter like to say

a DLH (Domesticated Long Hair) Dialute Calico.

If her color patches are clear and defined with no intermixing of the colors like marbling, of gray and peach and has no striping she would be a dialute calico color pattern, if there are strips and clearly defined she would be a Dialute Tabby Calico, and if the color patches dominated the white and were swirled together without distinct edges she would be a Dialute Tortishell and White. COLOR PATTERN not a breed

She is a beautiful cat none the less.

She looks like a long hair tortoiseshell mix because of the patches. Either that or she could be a long hair domestic cat (usually very common) Cute cat!

Someone already said it, but I second the answer: Norwegian Forest Cat. I flipped through my little cat book and that's visually the closest match to your Maya. Didn't say anything about squeaking, but internet says the breed has a very soft voice.

Domestic Long Hair, aka mutt cat. The most common type of cat. Very few cats are actually purebred, you'd have to either spend a lot of money for a papered purebred at a breeder, or get REALLY lucky at a rescue. And (thankfully) there aren't a lot of intentional cross-breeds polluting the population yet either (as in, half Maine Coon and half Persian, or whatever foolish combinations they might do). So your cat is pretty much just a cat.

The color is called Dilute Calico.

She a pretty calico. She is dashing because she is playing. Cats like to play tag and hide and go seek. She is trying to get you to play. Get a box big enough for her to play in cut some holes in it and get a string hang it down the holes and go cat fishing. You can also play hide and seek . She hides in the box and you look in different holes to find her.

shes a calico...which cane only be females...i too have a cat that goes crazy and dashes all over the place...shes also a wonderful mouser.try giving your cat pipe cleaners! my cat loves them!
