Nicotine/smoke stains on mustache?

Okay... I KNOW I need to quit smoking, so let's get past that.

My problem is that my mustache begins yellowing right down at its ends by my lip a week or so before I think it's long enough to need trimming.

I have brown mustache and beard with some gray.

Does anyone know of a cleanser that works for removing smoking stains from facial hair?

Here's an easier way, SHAVE IT ALL, problem solved!!!

Nicotine/smoke stains on mustache?

This may be a stretch, but...

I used to go to a stylist to get my hair colored. The color would never "take" because the water at my house was so hard and had so much iron in it that it sealed up the hair. He told me to make up a rinse and treat my hair with it before coming in and the solution did help cut through the residue on my hair. I don't remember the exact proportion, but the rinse consisted of lemon juice, epsom salts, and water. If I didn't have any other ideas, I'd try that. The lemon juice would cut through the gummy nicotine, I'd think.

Good luck -- especially with the quitting.
