social suicide. my best friend wants to give her hair to a cancer society which i thought was nice so i was like great idea! you should totally do it. but then she was like yeah its gonna be a super-short cut. like a boy cut. about 3 or 4 inches long! her hair is great but i think it would be awesome for her to give some away. whats a no-higher-than-the-shoulder cut she could get but still look cute. HELP! i'm open to any suggestions even if you think only an inch or two off.

Don't encourage your friend to live up to your superficial standards. "Social suicide" is not important, feeling good about yourself is and she should feel good that she's doing something for a cause that means something to her. How she looks in the end is up to her and she shouldn't care what anyone else thinks. There are plenty of cute short "boy cut" styles out there. She will find one she is happy with.

you have to have 10 inches to donate for the hair to be able to be used to make wigs for a non-profit group that makes these wigs for children who have noooooooooo hair..how can you be so selfish..your friends hair will grow back quick enough and she has a huge heart..you can learn something from your friend

If she wants to do something for charity then i think that is a reali nice idea! Her hair will grow back! People with cancer dont get the opportunity to say whether they want to lose their hair or not it just happens! So for others to volunteer to do it to show support is a great idea!

Let her cut it. It will not ruin her socially. More and more young women are trying buzz cuts or head shaves lately, so her getting cut down to 3 inches is nothing. She should go all the way to bald!

Aw that's a really nice thing of your friend to do and hair grows in a matter of no time and Who knows she could look hot with short hair if not it doesn't take long to grow your locks back
